Kirsty Bellombra (President)
My favourite Rotto Swim memory was the first time I experienced the start line as a soloist. The energy leading into that day was amazing, but the moment I got down to the beach, it all became even more incredible. It was a flurry of nerves and excitement. I was lucky enough to go off in the first wave of the day and the moment the horn blew, the months of preparation became all worth it. It's a feeling that I will never forget and is what drove me to give back to the race that has given me so much.Kirsty is a Sports Chiropractor in a multimodal clinic. Kirsty has been the Membership Chair for the International Federation of Sports Chiropractic (FICS) since 2023. She is a five-time soloist and assisted in the development of Champions of the Channel and the merchandise range seen on offer today!
Kirsty joined the RCSA Committee in 2016, was Vice-President in 2020, Assistant Race Director between 2020 and 2022, and is currently the President (from 2022).

William Rollo (Vice-President)
Too many to count. 2018 was unreal, breaking the team record with my best mates. 2019 a duo win with my brother was also very special but nothing compares to finishing the swim by yourself and as you swim in to Thomsons Bay and you realise you’ve made the crossing is something I’ll never forget! Will is an eager sports administrator and former elite open water athlete with 12 years of experience at the highest level of Open Water racing. Will has worked with Swimming WA and RCSA in various capacities over the past 8 years including experience within Corporate Partnerships and Event Delivery. Will has a passion for growing the professionalism of Swimming and seeing it turn to a major professional sport as opposed to the irregular cycle it currently faces.
Will finished 2nd in the 2020 and 2021 Rottnest Channel Swim, and won the 2019 Duo and 2018 Team of 4, as a part of the fastest ever crossing at that time. In addition, Will joined the Rottnest Channel Swim event coverage this year as one of the event commentators on both the start and finish line. With close connections with World Class Swimmers locally, nationally and internationally, Will is passionate about increasing the awareness of the RCSA and creating avenues for event development commercially and the quality of race. Will was appointed as a casual Committee member in August 2022 and was elected Vice-President at the 2023 AGM.

Alice Dormer (RCS 2999)
My favourite Rotto Swim memory is probably waiting at the start line for my first solo crossing, which was also the first time I’d ever started from the beach for a Rotto Swim crossing - the atmosphere and excitement is unlike anything else!Alice grew up in Perth and studied a combined Law and Arts degree in Sydney, before moving back to Perth to become a qualified lawyer, specialising in both employment law and health law.
Throughout school, university and now working life, Alice has sought out numerous opportunities to participate in a number of voluntary and governance roles, including Honorary Secretary of Sancta Sophia College Student Committee, committee member of the Notre Dame Law Society and member of North Cottesloe Surf Life Saving Club's Cold Water Classic Committee.
Outside of work, Alice is a passionate open water swimmer, squad swimmer and surf club member. Each morning you will find her either in the pool or down at her local surf lifesaving club. Alice has been an active member of North Cottesloe Surf Life Saving Club for over 10 years and continues to volunteer her time to the club as an active member, patrol captain and competitor. She also regularly participates in Perth's annual open water swimming events every summer.
Alice sees the South32 Rottnest Channel Swim as the pinnacle open water swimming events in Australia, and not only is it her favourite race of the year, but also her favourite day of the year! Alice has participated in the swim several times as a team, duo and soloist. She is excited and humbled at the opportunity to help shape the Rottnest Channel Swim Association, including this incredible event, which creates an amazing opportunity to promote open water swimming as well as showcase this amazing city.
Alice was appointed to the RCSA Board in July 2023.

Giorgia Beasley (RCS 3292)
Completing my solo was incredibly special. I had so many of my favourite people on the boat, and waiting for me on the island. After such a long lead up the day felt very surreal. I couldn’t believe it when I was seeing the seaweed up close and I didn’t want to try and put my feet down in the shallows in case I was misjudging the depth and actually still had a hundred meters to go!As a soloist and member of the Association, as well as an accomplished communications professional, she is confident she will add significant value to the Committee.
Over the last seven years, Giorgia has had the great privilege of experiencing the event not only as a swimmer, but also as a volunteer in a variety of roles.
During the 2018 event, Giorgia was responsible for the event’s social media presence. While always an engaging and interesting challenge to broadcast the diversity in swimmer experiences on the day, 2018 brought an added level of excitement with the event’s first shark evacuation. As swimmers, paddlers and skippers quickly took to social media with their own version of events and questions on the withdrawal process, Giorgia worked with the Association President and appointed public relations agency to craft reassuring, factual content on what was playing out.
This experience gave her a new appreciation for safety and operational communications, and the impact this has on swimmer experience.
In 2022, Giorgia had the unique opportunity to sit in Channel Swim Base during the event, working with Fremantle Sea Rescue and the Assistant Race Director on pushing announcements to participants through the new Rotto Swim app. To be truthful, Giorgia’s key takeaway from this experience was, selfishly, a huge sense of safety as a swimmer herself. The processes, diligence, and commitment to safety she saw, over a very challenging day for everyone on the water, was truly incredible.
If successfully elected to the Committee, Giorgia would seek to continue this strong governance and commitment to the Association’s core purpose of facilitating safe and successful crossings to Rottnest.
Giorgia is very hopeful these safe and successful crossings can again extend to out of event crossings. She has been very engaged in the process the Association has taken to date to try and bring these back to the swimming community.
